I am looking for a post that allows me to use the skills I developed in Art College as well as pursue my interest in working with community groups. I would also welcome the opportunity to promote the Arts in my local area.

EXHIBITIONS, PRIZES AND ACHIEVEMENTS
April Onwards 2009: Artangel
I will be running a number of adult workshops in all aspects of sculpture both at tha Artangel base and in my own Wasps studio.

I tutored a small group of people, of mixed ages through a sculpture workshop involving papier mache and clay modelling.

Duncan of Jordanstone School of Art
I tutored a group of children at the DCA in a wide range of materials to create a series of small gallery set ups and short films to be projected on to unusual backdrops.
I once again tutored at Duncan Of Jordanstone School of Art as part of the General Course staff. The projects were wide ranging from the human body to the object and outside spaces.

I tutored a group of adults at the DCA as part of the ST/ART program in a range of materials from printing through to sculpture which formed a small public exhibition.
December 2008: Dundee Visual Arts Award.
I was successful in receiving funding for my proposed year long art project which will encompass creative writing, the internet and artist collaboration, and culminate in a series of bronzes cast at Lumsden Sculpture Workshop in late 2009.
November 2008: Braeview Academy, Dundee
I again worked with Quality Contacts to tutor a group of children and assist them in the construction of a series of identity chairs unique to each pupil.
October/November 2008: Craigie High School, Dundee
I again worked with Quality Contacts to tutor a group of children and assist them in the construction of a large sculptural piece in the form of a totem pole for display in their school.
October 2008: Cupar Arts Festival. Cupar Fife
I took part in the two week inaugural arts festival and have a selection of my pieces of sculpture on display in a number of venues in the town.

I was invited to take part in ‘Experiments with Colour’ workshops. Running over two days they were designed for both family groups and 8-12 year old children. Leading on from these successful and enjoyable activities I have been invited back to take part in more activities,including assisting visiting artists in the setting up of their own shows.

I worked alongside members of the Quality Contacts team to tutor and assist schoolchildren in the constructon of fantastical animal heads for their permanent Victorial themed room within the school.

The SSW provides residency, training and exhibition opportunities for visual artists who wish to research ideas, experiment with new techniques or develop existing skills. The space, facilities and expertise provided helped me realise projects in a wide range of media, as well as giving me the opportunity to meet and work alongside other artists in a stimulating and engaging rural environment.

I was chosen to represent Duncan of Jordanstone in an exhibition dedicated to new graduates from each of Scotland’s major art colleges.

EMPLOYMENT EXPERIENCE
June 2001 - present: Arts and Heritage Assistant
Dundee City Council
Working in the McManus Galleries, Broughty Ferry Castle Museum, Old Steeple Museum and the Mills Observatory, my duties include working with the public; dealing with queries and providing information by telephone and email; working alongside curatorial staff, volunteers and artists; and responsibility for the reception desk and gallery shop. I have also begun taking public tours around the various buildings imparting the history of these Dundee landmarks.

Working in a range of locations throughout Scotland from large outdoor festivals to general door work, I provided security services to a wide range of licensed premises and events. Communication skills allowed me to manage customers in a positive and sensible manner.

Working in a busy distillery catering to large numbers of overseas visitors, I developed an excellent knowledge of the whisky production process and history as well as a flare to entertain and make feel welcome a wide range of age groups and nationalities.
